Hypnosis for possible weight loss help

I always believed that hypnosis could be used for many problems like smoking or fears but never bought the idea that telling someone to lose weight while in a trance could help someone reach their weight loss goal. I just can't see how this process can override basic principles in physiology and chemistry; after all energy cannot be created or destroyed it must be burned. Yes, you can speed up the process with a higher metabolism but again our metabolism cannot increase just because someone suggested it while being under the spell, there must be a reason for it to become raised, e.g. more exercise and activity.

However after reading much information on hypnotherapy I realized how it could be used as a tool for losing weight. It just clicked to me, the idea is to suggest to the person under hypnosis that they will start to enjoy an exercise they can do comfortably. This can help get the individual up and more active raising the metabolism in a natural way.

Another way to use hypnosis is to get the hypnotherapist to suggest while under, that the "bad" foods often enjoyed will start to taste different, in a way that they eventually find them repulsive. It should be done on a gradual process rather than making them repulsive immediately so the individual wont suddenly starve himself or simply crave for many other foods, suddenly taking out a large portion of energy providing foods will probably cause cravings for other similar foods thus eliminating the effects of the process.

The other great thing about this idea is that if worried that those "bad" foods can never be enjoyed again then simply get the process reversed after the desired weight is lost. Ok doing this could possibly lead back to gaining weight but at least you can try to control the calorie intake better second time around. This way we can get used to having our cake and eating it!

No more dieting this year!

The first thought that came into my head when people used to say "you need to lose weight" was "I must eat less food".

Yet the thing I hear so much lately is "if you want to lose weight you should be eating xxxx or you should try eating ????. The point is we shouldn't be looking at what must be eaten but the fact that we need to cut down first.

Most people gain weight because over time they tend to eat more than the body requires and/or too little activity. So when I attempted to lose weight I first cut down on the BIG meals. The foods were exactly the same as I had always eaten but I reduced the portion size first and foremost. Even though my diet was not the healthiest, the main fact was I gradually ate less food, I didn't even think about what foods I should be eating because at that time it would have meant eating more, not less!

I knew eating natural, healthy foods and ingredients would be good for me but at the time I needed to lose weight, portion size had to be controlled. I adapted my dietary intake to include good healthy foods AFTER I lost the weight. This is what helps me control my weight.

Don't let it slow!

In order to lose weight as quickly as possible this year many may get hooked on trying out many new supplements on the market. Personally I believe non of these work, I had a friend who once swore that a certain weight loss pill worked well. But this time round I noticed that he decided to go for it with a determined effort, maybe because he paid lots of money for them. He was out most days walking his dog, going to his old gym and started to play football once again. He done well but when the pills ran out I suggested he leave them out for a week but continue with the same vigor as when he started. After two weeks he still lost the same amount of weight!

I believe the difference was his attitude, he was more determined, more focused and ready to go that extra mile. Ok, the pills may have helped trigger this new found atitude but I firmly believe it was down to his efforts, not the pills.

The weight loss did slow down after a few months but that is natural and will happen to us all at some time. If weight slows down too early though its essential to make adjustments to both intake and exercise in order to kickstart fat loss once more. I found it extrememly helpful when I understood why weight loss slows down even though I was doing my best NOT to eat the bad stuff!

Start 2005 with an effective weight loss journey

Another new year is upon us again and most of us will have established some kind of resolution for this year. The most common resolution will be to lose weight.

Many of us would like to realize a dream quickly, and preferably easily, but losing permanent weight is NOT easy, its a journey of changes, healthy changes which need to be implemented into our lifestyle gradually.

I do not believe there will ever be an easy, quick solution to weight loss, even with all the science and technology around looking for that magical weight loss pill. Whatever may be developed this year I still don't believe it will work effectively.

The human body was naturally designed to move so it can only make positive physical changes with regular activity. With activity the changes are made inside the cells of all the body, these changes help improve energy systems, metabolism, chemical balances, etc. Surely taking any pill cannot cause these positive changes.

All animals on this earth developed natural, physical abilities by living a physical life, they never sit around pushing buttons or developed a system to make the hardship of obtaining food and warmth as easy as possible. No animal or human can become fit and healthy and lose weight permanently without activity!

Don't become hooked by marketing hype this year, lose weight by learning how to develop a good exercise and eating plan!

Take the time to learn all about effective exercise this year then hopefully you'll never have to waste money on diet supplements again!
