Sweating Off The Stored Fat

Some people believe that fat loss means sweating hard and long in the gym. Not always!

It's impossible to sweat off excess fat. Sweating causes dehydration which results in loss of water from the body. Obviously water loss will mean some weight loss, but this will simply be replaced from drinking water and fluids during the day.

Sweating could be seen as a rough guide to how much energy you're burning. More sweating during a workout will generally mean more calories burned because you're working harder. Greater amounts of calories burned is good for weight loss to some degree, however if you work too hard your body may end up burning far too much glucose for energy. This means fat is NOT being removed from the stores!

For some people, especially those very overweight and/or unfit, they may be better off working out at a more gradual pace. Maybe not so the workout is too easy but not so much where they're sweating too much or breathing too hard. A nice managable pace, but for longer periods so sufficient number of calories can be burned directly from fat storage.

Maybe it's time to give up those sweat suits, sweat belt and wraps!

Burn off the body fat with good quality exercise on a regular basis!
